What we built

We documented how buying works at the table, then built a private digital systems tool: faceted and rough modes, quality sliders, yield math, and a market tab against live dealer listings. One phone, shared rules the team trusts.

What it does

• When a stone lands in front of you: enter carat, stone type, and treatment, then adjust sliders for window, cut, clarity, colour, and brilliance to get a buy range
• Faceted mode: best buy price per carat and per stone across nine common Ceylon varieties and point or standard carat tiers
• Rough mode: model 40/50/60/70% yield and see what rough is worth against the finished stone you can sell
• Market tab: compare your range to live listings from Gemstock, Natural Sapphire Company, Wijaya Gems, River Gems, and other dealer sources
• Heated, unheated, and untreated tracks; quality adjustments scale the whole range, not just one number
• Phone-ready at the table; USD, LKR, CZK, and AUD from one shared FX file
